LCCNC is excited to launch the 2026 Board of Directors call for nominations. We are happy that you are interested in a vacant seat on the board. Your time, talents are welcome to help make this organization as strong as ever! The board of directors is made up of the following officers: President, President-Elect, Past- President, Secretary, Treasurer and Member at Large (2 positions), and two NEW positions : Compliance Officer, and Parliamentarian. The following board seats are vacant for 2026:
President-Elect ( year 1 of a 3 year term)
The President- Elect shall serve as a voting member of the Board of Directors, shall act in the place of the President at all association or board meetings, which the President is unable to attend, and shall perform such duties as may be requested by the Board and directed by the President. The President-Elect will assume the role of President in year two and will serve a the board chair. The President overseas the daily operations of the association, works closely with the advocacy committee and our lobbyist, represents LCCNC at local, statewide and national meetings of interest to the association. In year three, the President will assume the role of the Immediate Past-President and will serve as the mentor to the incoming president-elect and board members. The Immediate Past President serves as the chair of the nominations, awards and the Board of Reference.
Key Responsibilities: Governance & Leadership, Representation & Advocacy, Engagement & Support and Accountability. Note: This position will be chosen by the professional membership of the LCCNC association and qualified candidates will be asked to be put on a ballot for our general election in October 2025.
Member-at-Large (Two Positions; 2 year term)
The Member-at-Large serves as a voting member of the Board of Directors of the Licensed Clinical Counselors of North Carolina.. This role provides general support, representation, and leadership to advance the mission of the association. Unlike officers or committee chairs, the Member-at-Large has flexible responsibilities, offering input across board initiatives, representing the interests of members, and assisting with special projects as needed. Key Responsibilities: Liaison between members and the board; Representation & Advocacy. This position is appointed by the current president.
Parliamentarian (2 year term) - *New board positionThe Parliamentarian is a voting board member and advisor to the Board of Directors of the Licensed Clinical Counselors of North Carolina. This individual ensures that board meetings and organizational proceedings are conducted in accordance with adopted rules of order—typically Robert's Rules of Order, Newly Revised—and helps maintain transparency, efficiency, and fairness in all decision-making processes. Key Responsibilities: Advisory Role, Governance Oversight, Training Oversight, documentation review, Neutrality. This position is appointed by the current president.
Compliance Officer (2 year term)- *New board positionThe Compliance Officer is an executive-level officer and member of the Board of Directors of the Licensed Clinical Counselors of North Carolina (LCCNC). This role is responsible for ensuring that the organization complies with all applicable legal, ethical, and regulatory standards. The Compliance Officer helps with Reporting and Documentation: maintain organizational integrity and supports the board in upholding policies that align with LCCNC’s mission, bylaws, and values. Key Responsibilities: Regulatory Compliance, Bylaws and Policy Oversight,Risk Management,Training and Education,Reporting and Documentation,Liaison Role,Ethics and Conduct. This position is appointed by the current president.
