EVENT:

When counselors work with individuals who have a vocational needs, counselors should be equipped with resources to support. Vocational Rehabilitation is a state program that helps people with physical, sensory, mental, emotional, or learning disabilities find, get or keep a job. In this presentation, attendees will learn how Vocational Rehabilitation staff and counselors support with individuals with disabilities to live and work in the communities of their choice with economic and other supports available to help them to achieve/maintain optimal self-sufficiency and independence. Presenters will also discuss referral and eligibility criteria, adult and transitioning consumers and business relationships.

The workshop is designed to help participants:

1. Help counselors identify the referral and eligibility criteria.

2. Describe adult and transitioning consumers, and

3. Outline services offered to support vocational needs by vocational rehabilitation.
