This one-hour presentation reflects on the first year following new licensure as an LCMHCS, exploring the journey from licensing to real-world application. Participants will gain insight into the variety of experiences that often accompany this transition, with a focus on self-compassion and mindful attention to personal needs. The session will also review different Supervisory Styles to help supervisors develop their professional identity distinct from their role as a counselor. Additionally, the presentation will address the critical yet often overlooked aspect of branding and marketing a new supervision service.
EVENT:
The workshop is designed to help participants:
1.Participants will be able to differentiate supervisory identity from counselor-only identity.
2.Participants will be able to describe and distinguish between various supervision styles.
3.Participants will be able to identify at least two effective strategies for marketing supervision services.
PRESENTER:
Elise Davis, LCMHCS is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor (LCMHCS) and the owner of Present Practice Counseling. The mission of Present Practice Counseling is straightforward: to increase mindfulness for focused action. Elise employs research-supported methods, such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to empower clients with practical skills that foster meaningful change, alleviate distress, cultivate a sense of peace, and encourage purposeful living.
