The workshop is designed to help participants:
1.Understand recent legislative changes impacting mental health services in North Carolina and their implications for service delivery and funding.
2.Gain insights into state-level initiatives and policy updates.
3.Learn about current licensure regulations and practice standards for licensed clinical mental health counselors, and how recent developments will influence clinical practice and professional requirements.
PRESENTER:
Ashley Perkinson represents both statewide and national organizations at the North Carolina General Assembly. She has represented LPCANC now LCCNC since 2007. Ashley also currently serves on the North Carolina Symphony Board of Trustees, Governor's School Foundation Board, and UNC Alumni Association Board. She also formerly served as president of the Phi Beta Kappa Association of Wake County and former secretary of the Wake County Bar Association. She is also a former board member of SafeChild. In 2011, Ashley was named by Triangle Business Journal as one of the Triangle's 40 Under 40. Ashley was recognized in 2021 by North State Journal as one of North Carolina's top 25 lobbyists. Ashley is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Journalism and School of Law. Ashley enjoys providing government relations services to her clients.
Kelly Crosbie brings over 30 years of experience in providing and managing public services and supports for people with mental health and substance use issues, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and brain injury. In her current role as the Director of the NCDHHS Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, and Substance Use Services (DMH/DD/SUS), Kelly oversees the public community-based system for mental health, intellectual and other developmental disabilities, substance use, and traumatic brain injury in North Carolina. For the past 13 years, Kelly has served in multiple leadership roles within NC DHHS, including Assistant Director of Behavioral Health at NC Medicaid, Chief Operating Officer of NC Medicaid, and the Chief Quality and Population Health Officer at NC Medicaid. Kelly is proud to be a licensed clinical social worker and person with lived experience.
