The workshop is designed to help participants:
1. Participants will expand knowledge of the specific ethical considerations when working with the LGBTQIA2S+ Community by identifying 2 to 3 ethical codes specific to supporting clients.
2. Identify 2 to 3 confidentiality and informed consent considerations.
3. Describe appropriate 1 to 2 affirmative language and cultural practices when working with the LGBTQIA2S+ community.
4. Identify 2 roles of the counselors’ values, best practices, and self-reflection.
PRESENTER:
Eric Jett, PhD, is currently a licensed counselor in the state of Oklahoma, where he is also an approved license supervisor. He is a National Certified Counselor and a Registered Play Therapy Supervisor. Dr. Jett Graduated with his Masters in Mental Health Counseling in 2010, and completed his PhD, in 2015 in Counselor Education and Supervision at Walden University. Dr. Jett has focused most of his career in counseling in two primary areas, trauma-focused treatment, and substance abuse treatment services. With a history of working with a wide range of ages, he specializes in working with children and adolescents. Along with his clinical practice, Dr. Jett is the Senior Program Director for the CMHC program at Southern New Hampshire University.
